Memorial Behaviour

hi gang,.

we as humans have a need to celebrate.

we want to be happy and to share our joy and share in the joy of others.

At Bethel we heard stories of congregations that had big parties after the Memorial, rent a banquet hall or reserve a whole restaurant. As I recall, a couple of years, during Morning Worship, we were discouraged from accepting invitations out to After-Memorial gatherings. Dutifully, I reclined a couple of invitations, but waited and accepted the invites where I knew there'd be hot sisters and free booze. It helped me love Jesus more.

Since it's on a Saturday this year, I think I'll arrange a big blow-out post-Memorial party at my place this year ! Uncle Teddy Jaracz is not invited !

in the cbs/ap it's reported that "only 37% of those born into the sect remain members.

" it also said that jw is the fastest growing religion with the worst retention rate.

i guess it's that they appear attractive long enough to baptize the people, then they lose them.

At first I was surprised by that statistic, but when I thought about my peers, it sounds about right.

In my cong. about half are out, a quarter left & returned, and a quarter of us have stayed 'in' (God help us!). A neighboring congregation, I would guess, have only retained maybe 5% of my peer group.

the same guy that spoke to my mum on the doors yesterday was talking about them in the same catergory , aswell as saying that there are alot of 13 to 15 year old girls hanging around the local night club looking for a one night stands (she should of asked him how he knew about this , is that because he is there ?

) his point was is a man of 25 that picks up a 15 year old plastered in makeup at a nightclub a paedophile ?

which was totally irrelevant to the point she was making about the local ex min servant that had abused his daughters friends in the cong even though he was good friends with thier parents and had known the girls since birth , so did know they were underage .

Billy- you are giving the impression by your careless statement of consenting adults that this behavior(homosexuality) is ok. Just because two people consent to something does not mean its ok to do. This behavior is against nature and not to mention against God's laws! if what you say is the case then people can consent to do drugs together or commit murder or whatever else people can do together,just because they consented dosent make it ok

I clearly agree that homosexuality is a sin according to the Bible, any sex outside of marriage is a sin. And according to the Watchtower magazine, some sex inside of marriage is a sin, too. Is homosexuality a criminal offense according to established secular laws? Homosexual activity is not illegal in my state or country. If I go to the police to report that my neighbors are gay, they wouldn't care. My neighbors are adults, and as long as they're not doing it in the front yard, the cops don't care. Illegal drugs can be prosecuted by law. Drunk driving is against the law just to get behind the wheel because of what might happen as a result. Murder is a crime, someone's life was unjustly cut short. Pedophilia and rape are both very illegal with lengthy prison terms, followed by a permanant record as a threat to neighborhoods. Some things are different in other countries. Evidently you live where homosexuality is criminal, but pedophilia is not. Yep, Real One, you kill the homosexuals, but let the pedophiles freely roam your neighborhood.

I was in Bethel and spent many years studying the Bible and you hate me because of that. And you hate me because I am a man and I am a virgin, undefiled by women, undefiled by men, and have not had sex with anyone. And you know that I will be blessed to be in heaven with Jesus. Jesus is already with me right now. Why do you persecute me for speaking the truth about the dangers of the WT lenient stand on pedophilia? Why do you say that I am "careless" when I do care about the welfare of children and point out that pedophilia is against secular laws and should be punished? Do you hate all children as much as you hate me? By all means, hate the criminal pedophiles and follow the other laws of the land. But, let go of all of your hate for children, let go of the hate for homosexuals, let go of the hate for everyone that doesn't measure up to YOUR standards. Jesus is about love. Learn to love before all this hatred rips your very soul apart forever.

I didn't read the whole pile of ~~crap~~ words, but in the very intro where they introduce the evil proselytizers (LDS, JW, etc.) and the blessed evangelizers:

I think they need to re-read the history of the Catholic Church in the new world. The native American population was given the option to become Catholic or die, and then they were treated as slaves to send gold and silver back to Spain.

When the Catholic Church is dominant and powerful in a country they tyranize the population. When they are a minority, or in this case shrinking, they wrap themselves in this cloak of righteousness and claim to be unjustly persecuted.

Strangely, most Catholics I've known admit that the Church is goofed up, but locally they have many friends plus social events there and it gives them a warm, fuzzy feeling to be told that just being Catholic fast-forwards them through purgatory to heavenly bliss.

You know how to tell when the GB is speculating, right? Their lips are moving.

As mentioned earlier, Losch's Morning Worship comments could be real doozies for proving brain damage. He once applied Genesis 3:16 - "To the woman he said: "...your craving will be for your husband, and he will dominate you."" And he applied it to mean that all women nymphomaniacally crave sex with men. The Bible says so. Jeez, he shoved his foot so far in his mouth with that one, you could see his toes wiggling out his arse. I just wonder if Sr. Losch proved to him that she didn't crave him for the next... well, forever.

On several of the points, I can agree with fatboyslim. Not really new, just things not mentioned in decades. I believe I heard all of 11-14 back in the crazy 70s. Similarly, most of those weren't published but were stated at the District Crapvention. So now, leave it to Losch to speculate on the wackiest ideas ever speculated by Freddie and the Culty Bunch.

Inheritance issues in my family, too. But my parents are way smarter than what you were told. Everything will go up for sale, whatever we want, we have to buy, the final cash will be split evenly. I don't know what to say about your situation, so I'll just throw some words at ya that influenced my parents thinking:

I'm wondering, is the grandson going to take care of them during the perhaps many years of their declining health?
Not sure of the financial/legal situation in your area, but if they try to hold onto all the money until the very end but wind up in a nursing home, there could go all the money anyway.
If you know there is nothing saved up for you and you'll have to work, you won't have time to give them any care in their home. I'm sure they might be able to pay someone to care for them that won't steal from them or abuse them too badly.
Did your parents earn the money or did they also inherit?
Not sure of the circumstances, but what if the grandson doesn't become a JW or is gay with no kids or marries with no kids. What if he marries a gal with two kids, he dies shortly afterward, and she and her family get all the dough?

Our family doesn't have a lot more money for two reasons: Too much was given to WTBTS since the end was sooooooooo close. Too much left the family via poorly planned wills.

They will all be destroyed at Armageddon right along with the happily, and faithfully, married heterosexual couple with two well-behaved children who are all nearly perfect... except they don't go to the Kingdom Hall. And the widow who works as a nurse, helps her niece through college, and also does volunteer work at the shelter? She's gonna die too, because she masterbated once... it's idolatry don't you know.

As far as the official JW stance: Goats are anyone not a baptized JW publisher and will be bird food. Sheep are anybody, including homosexuals and pedophiles, who either aren't caught or 'repent' as often as necessary, but continue to be a JW publisher.

They lump things together to see everything as 'sins' that either will or won't be forgiven. They can't comprehend the idea of 'crime', something that can cause permanent harm to innocent people and needs to be punished by a court of law. Any honesthearted thinking individual knows that consenting, adult homosexuals victimize nobody. Pedophiles are criminals that victimize innocent young children or they victimize older children who may appear to be old enough to consent, but are recognized to be too immature to handle the seriousness of sex. The simplistic JW view that everything is black-and-white actually minimizes the seriousness of things like pedophilia... they just need to repent, forget the child, it's no worse than any other form of pornea. NOT

Why not endorse murder? After all, whoever that brother killed now has the wonderful opportunity to be resurrected !!

Need Info About CONVENTION CONTRIBUTIONS

i am looking for someone to comment on the way distrcit convention budgets are calculated, including the inevitable "deficit" that is based on a prearranged dontation to the "worldwide work.".

this information will be shown in an upcoming watchtower comments video, so i need accuracy, documents, links, anything you can provide.. thank you!.
